Hi All,
If you are sending Bulk SMS to Irish mobile numbers you need to be aware of a new initiative by the Irish Communications Regulator (Comreg) (www.comreg.ie) to stop SPAM messages being sent to Irish numbers.
Comreg launched the initiative in February by setting up a new register of SenderID(s) used by companies in their SMS Marketing.
Every SenderID is required to be registered and approved by Comreg. Furthermore the SMS Provider must also be approved. For example the SenderID AUDI would be registered to AUDI Ireland Ltd and the approved SMS provider would be Sendmode.
From July 3rd, any SenderID which has not been approved by Comreg (and with a chosen SMS provider) will be marked as ‘LIKELY SCAM‘. From October 3rd any SenderID not approved will be blocked.
If you are sending into the Irish market, it is vitally important to have all your SenderID(s) registered and approved with Comreg before the 3rd of July 2025.
More information can be found here. https://senderid.comreg.ie/
