A Mobile Marketing Strategy for 2017

Tutorial – Build my Opt-In List

If your business does not have a mobile marketing strategy, it is time to start seriously thinking about one. Consumers check their mobile phones on average 150 times per day. More people are browsing the internet with their mobiles than any other medium. So much so that Google’s next release of their search product will favour websites which work best on mobile devices.

OK so it might be a little daunting at first but here are a few tips to get a mobile marketing strategy up and running for your business in 2017.

Your Website

Your website needs to work seamlessly on all devices and screen sizes. This includes desktop, tablet and mobile phones. A great idea would be to switch your website to a WordPress website which will make it totally mobile friendly. You can purchase nice WordPress templates from many sites for a few dollars. WordPress itself if free and a great system for making sure your business looks great on mobiles.

Mobile Search Ads

Did you know that mobile search advertising reportedly generated 50% of digital search revenue in 2016? So 50% of all digital revenue came from people searching from their mobile phones. Google, Facebook, Twitter and Linked In allow you to pay to appear at the top of the search results.

You can then bring people to a page on your website (make sure it is mobile friendly!!) or they can click to call your office directly.

SMS Marketing

Probably the simplest but definitely one of the most effective ways of communicating with your customer base. Simply collect your customer’s mobile numbers (ask their permission to text them!! ) and then periodically send updates on latest offers by sms. The statistics on SMS Marketing are unreal. 98% of these messages will be read by your customers (with 90% read within 3 minutes of receipt).

There are plenty of bulk text marketing suppliers on the internet. Search for “Bulk Text”. Make sure you choose one who understands your Data Protection responsibilities.

There are a number of other mobile marketing techniques such as using QR codes or App based Mobile Marketing but if you would like to begin by using the above three it will make a huge difference to your marketing.

I hope you will find the above tips useful and if you are interested in using SMS marketing please feel free to give us a call at any time. We would be delighted to serve your marketing needs.

Thank you and Happy New Year.
